So Perceptive

Dylan found my eye lashes this morning. As we were snuggling in bed laying face to face I noticed that he was staring at my left eye. Then all of a sudden very gently he started to brush my eye lashes with his little fingers. It was the sweetest moment. I can't believe how perceptive he is.

Ouch!!

Well people have warned me that this was going to happen...the biting has begun. Dylan is teething so of course it feels good to bite down on things. The other day I was nursing and all of a sudden he bit down with his gums. I said "No Dylan" in a stern mommy voice. When I looked down he was still gnawing on my nipple while laughing and flashing a devilish little grin. Mischievous already...definitely my child!

Back on Track

When Dylan started to cry I thought "Oh no...not this again". Then I looked at the clock...4:58 and I thought "Oh yes! He slept through the night...yay for us!" I hope this means we're getting back on track.

Snuggle Bug

I am almost convinced that my son has grown too comfy snuggling with mama at night. We were very lucky from the get go with Dylan...within the first week home he was sleeping up to 6 hours a night. Soon it bumped up to 8 hours. Lucky us! I was very adamant that baby would not be sleeping in our bed. We were doing great until I went back to work. It then became easier to justify snuggling because I wasn't seeing him as much. But every time I cave I don't get a good nights sleep...I swear Dylan thinks I'm an all you can eat buffet. And now all this snuggling is beginning to bite me in the caboose. The last 2 nights he has ended up in our bed because he has woken up crying...this must stop before it becomes unstoppable. Must be strong tonight despite the cutest of my son.

Dylan's Best Friends

Dylan has become fascinated with the dogs lately. If I hadn't been in the middle of pumping breast milk I would have caught this moment on video. We had Dylan in his bumbo seat and he was literally turning his torso to see Brewer. He started smiling when Brewer came into sight. Suddenly Bailey barked from behind the couch which startled Dylan. I thought he was going to cry but instead he starting cracking up. So Bailey came around to where he was sitting and Dylan just laughed and laughed. Since Dylan wasn't tossing any treats there way the dogs were only interested in him for a minute before they laid back down. The moment the dogs were out of Dylan's view he started to fuss and cry. Brewer seems to be sensitive to his cries and always checks on him which immediately made Dylan laugh again. This back and forth of laughing and crying went on for sometime. It was hilarious to watch and made me realize how much Dylan loves his best friends.

Baby's First Vacation

Well, traveling with an infant turned out to be a lot easier than we expected. Packing on the other hand was more confusing than ever. Do we bring the play-mat? Do we really need the pack-n-play? How many outfits and diapers should I pack? Well my questions were answered when I compared the trunk size to the amount of luggage we had...so we left the play-mat and the pack-n-play behind.

Sticking with the basic necessities for Dylan we packed about 8 outfits, diapers/wipes, diaper bag, 4 of his favorite toys, 3 blankets, pacifiers, bottles, breast pump, car seat and stroller.
Then we were off to San Fransisco for 4 days and 3 nights!

We had such a great time exploring SF for kid friendly activities while still indulging in some of our local favorites:
Day One: Got into San Fran early evening so we just relaxed and ordered pizza in from Uncle Vito's.
Day Two: Slept in, then took a leisurely walk down to North Beach and had the best Sweet Pea Soup at O'Reily's Irish Pub. Ventured back to the hotel for a quick nap and then we were off to the Golden Gate Bridge!

After our 3.5 mile walk mommy and daddy were able to sneak out for some sushi while Uncle Jo Jo babysat. Happy 7th anniversary to us!!
Day Three: Walked to the Buena Vista for breakfast and the much desired Irish Coffee...delicious! Then we trekked all the way back...it was a hike I tell you:) Then we took Dylan to the zoo!! Even though Dylan only managed to stay awake long enough to see the monkeys we still had a great time. The giraffes were my favorite. We ended the evening with some brother/sister time while daddy chilled out with little dude.
Day Four: Croissants and coffee...then off the Ca Academy of Science. What an amazing place! Best part was that Dylan stayed awake the entire time we were there. He was absolutely enthralled with the exhibits. He really enjoyed the aquarium. I can't wait to bring him back. We had a fancy cup of soup in the Moss Room...very swank. We even tried sardines! To end the day we made one final stop at Joe's Cable Car for the most delicious burgers...really very good.
Seriously one of the best vacations Cliff and I have ever taken. Great family memories can't wait until we do it again. Dylan proved to be a fine travel companion!

So It Begins

My family has been suggesting I start a blog about my beautiful baby boy Dylan. Although it has taken me nearly 4 months to do so...I now present you with The Daily Dylan!!
Follow me and my hubby in our adventures of raising our little man. I'm sure it will prove to be entertaining seeing that Dylan is the cutest, brightest, and most precious baby I have ever met. OK...I may be biased but seriously he is adorable.
Enjoy!
